WHO DO WE SUPPORT IN OUR COMMUNITY AND WHY

 

We support the local grass roots football team claytons u11's . This club gives the kids the chance to be a part of a team and keep them off the streets many of our players come from poor backgrounds and even violent ones. Some of them were bullied at school and even outside their own homes but now as many of them have found out that being a part of this team provides not only support on all levels but also a firm safe environment for them to interact with each other and make new friends that look out for each other and provide that all important feeling of being a part of a group and not out casted. Only a couple of days ago a team member said to me "we saw xxx getting pushed around and we stood up for him " that to me was a sign that this works in reality and made me increbly proud of these kids , can you imagine  being that kid getting bullied and a group of kids you have only known for a few days looking out for you and knowing yes you do have support.

 

HOW DO WE SUPPORT THIS ?      

 

I take time out of my busy schedule to coach these kids on wednesdays also matchdays and encourage more kids to join in whenever i get the chance to we at taylor discus will also be donating 1 pound for every kilo of foods sold to this project thats how strongly i believe in it.

 

WHAT IS THE IMMEDIATE GOAL ?

 

Well due to the backgrounds of these kids ranging vastly i would like raise enough funds to supply them with winter training tops so they all wear the same kit and dont feel intimidated by seeing others with expensive clothing ect i know it might not seem much to you but even the feeling of  being in the same kit as everyone else make a huge mental difference and removes any self doubt a child may have

 

WHOW ARE WE GOING TO ACHIEVE THIS?

 

Well for every kilo of foods sold we will donate 1 pound on your behalf to the 500 pounds needed aswell as placing a donate 1 pound button at the bottom of this page once we reach the target we will order the kit and get a group photo with kids wearing the kit that you helped to get  and im sure they will do a little video for you to show their appreciation as they are great kids with good attitudes that want to help others (a rare thing these days )
